A VeVe collectible with a “phygital” mechanic can include more than a digital collectible: Under certain conditions, collectors may also receive a physical item. However, eligibility depends not only on which collectible is in the account, but also on how, when, and through which channel it was acquired.
This guide explains Physical Redemption from a collector’s perspective. The expired “Graffi ver. Phantom” example clearly illustrates why eligibility, holding periods, time zones, receipts, and shipping terms must be checked before making a purchase.
TL;DR: “Phygital” is not a blanket promise that every digital collectible automatically comes with a physical counterpart. The terms of each specific promotion determine eligibility. In particular, check the permitted purchase channel, the eligibility window in Pacific Time, any required holding period, the claim or email process, and the shipping, customs, and import terms. Do not sell or transfer a qualifying collectible before the required holding period ends.

What Does “Phygital” Mean on VeVe?
“Phygital” combines digital and physical collecting experiences. On VeVe, for example, qualifying ownership of a specific digital collectible may allow its holder to redeem or receive a physical item.
However, the term does not describe one standardized process. For some releases, collectors first purchase a digital collectible that later qualifies them for a physical item. With other collaborations, a physical product is purchased at an event and includes a promo code for a digital collectible.
Physical Redemption and Promo Codes Are Not the Same
With a Physical Redemption, the relevant process typically begins with the digital collectible. The official terms specify which purchase and holding period qualify for the physical item.
A promo-code redemption works in the opposite direction: A physical product or event promotion provides a code that can be used to redeem a digital item. VeVe’s NYCC collaborations with FiGPiN are an example of physical products that include a digital redemption code.
Although VeVe may describe both models as “phygital,” the eligibility paths should not be confused. A promo code does not replace a qualifying Store purchase when the specific Physical Redemption terms expressly require a purchase from the VeVe Store.
Five Eligibility Questions to Ask Before Buying
For phygital promotions, the fine print determines whether a digital collectible actually qualifies. Before spending Gems, you should be able to answer five questions in writing.
- Which item qualifies? Check the exact name, variant, and, if applicable, eligible edition.
- Which purchase channel qualifies? “Store only” normally excludes purchases from the Market.
- What is the eligibility window? Record the start and end dates, times, and time zone.
- Is there a holding period? Confirm how long the collectible must be held without being sold or transferred.
- How does the claim work? Check whether VeVe will send an email, provide a form, or announce additional steps.
The purchase channel is one of the most common sources of mistakes. Our guide to Store-only vs. Market eligibility explains why technically identical collectibles may be treated differently depending on where they came from.

Real-World Example: Graffi ver. Phantom
VeVe’s official terms listed 25 digital collectibles for “Graffi ver. Phantom.” Only editions purchased from the VeVe Store between February 2, 2026, at 8:00 AM PT and March 2, 2026, at 11:59 PM PT qualified.
That eligibility window has now expired. A later purchase from the Market therefore cannot retroactively establish eligibility for this specific Physical Redemption.
Why a Market Purchase Was Not Enough
The requirement did not apply only to owning a Graffi ver. Phantom. It required the collectible to have been purchased from the VeVe Store during the specified period.
Collectors who later purchased an edition from another collector on the Market owned the digital collectible, but that purchase did not automatically satisfy the documented purchase requirement for the physical item. For phygital promotions, collectors should never look only at the item name, rarity, or mint number.
The Pacific Time Zone Trap
VeVe published the window in Pacific Time. For Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the stated times in February and early March 2026 corresponded to Central European Time: The window began on February 2 at 5:00 PM CET and ended on March 3 at 8:59 AM CET.
The local end date can therefore fall on the following calendar day. Always save the official PT deadline along with the conversion to your local time. Do not rely on a social media post recalled from memory.
Holding Period: Holding Really Means Not Selling
For Graffi ver. Phantom, VeVe required the digital collectible to be held throughout the specified period. Selling or transferring it before the holding period ended could result in the loss of eligibility for the physical item.
The safest rule for collectors is therefore: If you want to participate in a Physical Redemption, do not list, sell, or transfer the qualifying collectible until the official holding window has fully ended. If anything is unclear, wait for confirmation or an official claim message.
Even a Brief Sale Can Be a Problem
It is risky to sell a collectible before the deadline and then buy back a different edition. Eligibility may be tied to the original Store purchase, the specific edition, and uninterrupted ownership of that edition.
Also, do not assume that removing a Market listing will retroactively restore every status. The terms of the specific promotion must clarify whether simply listing the collectible matters or whether only a completed sale is relevant.
What Happens After You Qualify
Under the general phygital terms, eligible users should receive an email with instructions for submitting their shipping information. Being eligible therefore does not mean there is nothing left to check after the holding period ends.
Check the email address linked to your VeVe account, your spam folder, and official in-app notifications. Look for any response or claim deadline and confirm that you can enter your complete shipping address.
Shipping Is at the Recipient’s Risk
VeVe states in its general phygital terms that physical items will be shipped to the address provided. According to those terms, the recipient assumes the shipping risk, and VeVe disclaims responsibility for damage, loss, or delays during shipping.
This condition should factor into your decision before buying the digital collectible. Carefully verify the name, street, house or building number, postal code, region, and country. If possible, save confirmation of the information you submitted.
Shipping, Customs, and Import Fees
Recipients may be responsible for customs duties, taxes, and other import costs. Whether these charges apply depends on factors including the destination country, declared value, shipping method, and local regulations.
The general phygital terms for Graffi ver. Phantom do not make a blanket statement that all shipping costs are included. By contrast, another promotion, the ECOMI Coin Crafting event, expressly stated that shipping was included in the crafting price. Never apply product-specific details from one promotion to another phygital promotion.
If an announcement does not clearly address shipping costs, do not automatically assume shipping is free. Wait for the specific email or contact official support before submitting sensitive information or accepting a payment request.
Digital and Physical Mint Numbers May Differ
VeVe notes that the mint number of the physical item may not match the number of the digital collectible. Collectors should expect a match only when it has been expressly promised for that specific release.
A low digital mint number is therefore not evidence that the physical counterpart will carry the same number. Treat “mint matching” as a separate product term rather than a standard feature of phygital releases.
Which Records Collectors Should Save
Good documentation cannot establish eligibility on its own, but it can help with follow-up questions, missing emails, or conflicting account information. Save the key details at the time of purchase whenever possible rather than waiting several weeks.
- Screenshot of the official promotion terms showing the date and eligibility window
- Screenshot of the Store page showing the collectible’s exact name and variant
- Purchase confirmation or receipt with the date, time, and order information
- Collectible detail view showing the mint number
- Account email or masked account identifier linking the purchase to your account
- Confirmation of the submitted shipping address
- All official emails about the claim and shipping status
Save complete files rather than cropped excerpts. You can find more tips in our guide to VeVe receipts and proof of purchase.

How to Spot Fake Forms and Phygital Scams
Phygital promotions are attractive to scammers because collectors are looking for claim links, shipping forms, and status updates. A message can look credible and still lead to a fake form.
- Open claim links only from an official VeVe email or through a verified VeVe channel whenever possible.
- Never enter your password, two-factor authentication code, recovery information, or wallet seed phrase into a shipping form.
- Be suspicious of direct messages claiming they can speed up a claim or restore lost eligibility.
- Do not pay an unexpected “activation fee” to private wallets or unknown accounts.
- Check the sender’s address, domain, and requested form information before submitting personal details.
- If you are unsure, use only the official support channel.
A legitimate shipping process may require your name, address, and contact information. It does not need the login credentials for your VeVe account. If an email is missing or a link looks suspicious, our guide to contacting VeVe Support can help you submit a structured ticket.
Common Phygital Mistakes to Avoid
Checking Ownership Only
Ownership on the snapshot date is not necessarily enough. The purchase source, purchase date, and ownership history may be just as important.
Confusing the Store With the Market
A Market purchase is not a continuation of the original Store purchase. If the terms say “Store only,” take that wording literally.
Selling Too Early
An attractive Market offer may tempt collectors to sell before the holding period ends. If you want the physical item, first satisfy the full eligibility period.
Assuming Physical Mint Matching
The digital mint number and the number on the shipped item may differ. An identical number must be expressly guaranteed.
Assuming All Costs Are Included
Shipping, customs duties, import taxes, and handling fees are separate considerations. Read the terms for the specific promotion rather than relying on the rules of an earlier phygital release.

VeVe Physical Redemption FAQ
Is Every VeVe Phygital Release Automatically a Digital-Plus-Physical Bundle?
No. The term is used for different connections between digital and physical collectibles. The specific eligibility and redemption process always determines what applies.
Can I Sell the Collectible Immediately After Buying It?
Not if a holding period is required and you want to retain eligibility for the physical redemption. Selling or transferring it early may end your eligibility.
Does a Market Purchase Qualify?
Only if the promotion terms expressly allow it. For Graffi ver. Phantom, only Store purchases made during the official eligibility window qualified.
Will the Physical Mint Match My Digital Mint?
Not necessarily. VeVe states that physical and digital mint numbers may differ unless mint matching has been promised.
Who Pays Customs Duties and Import Costs?
Under the general phygital terms, the recipient is responsible for potential customs duties, taxes, and other import costs. The specific amount depends on the shipment and local regulations.
What Should I Do if the Claim Email Does Not Arrive?
First, check your registered email address, spam folder, and official notifications. Then contact official VeVe Support and include your receipt, mint information, and relevant screenshots.
Conclusion: With Phygital, the Documented Process Matters
VeVe Phygital can give collectors an interesting connection between a digital collectible and a physical item. However, the collecting decision should come only after you understand the purchase channel, eligibility window, holding period, claim process, and potential additional costs.
The Graffi example demonstrates the most important rule: Having the right collectible in your account does not automatically create a valid claim to the physical item. Collectors who save the terms early, convert deadlines to their local time, and respect the holding period can significantly reduce avoidable misunderstandings.
