OMI to Gem Is Changing: StackR, USDC and MCP Rewards

ECOMI plans to retire OMI-to-Gem, make USDC-to-Gem the main crypto route and move daily MCP points into OMI Unlimited. Here is what is known now.

ECOMI has specified the OMI transition: OMI-to-Gem is scheduled to retire on October 1, 2026. USDC-to-Gem on StackR becomes the main crypto route, and OMI Unlimited is due to launch on Base the same day. The daily MCP bonus moves to staking, with the existing StackR holding bonus continuing until October 4.

Checked September 30, 2026 and updated against the September 28 ECOMI launch announcement. The launch is still ahead at this check. The cover is a conceptual illustration, not a depiction of an already available transaction.

What changes for a collector buying Gems?

The launch announcement now gives October 1 as the retirement date for OMI-to-Gem. Older StackR guides describe the previous route. Before buying Gems, check the route actually offered and the final amount; an older help article remaining online does not confirm current availability.

Under the announced replacement, USDC-to-Gem on StackR becomes the primary crypto route. ECOMI says that for each Gem purchase made with USDC on StackR, an amount equal to 10% is used to buy OMI on the open market; the acquired OMI is then burned. ECOMI also says the collector still receives 1 Gem for 1 USDC. The 10% mechanism is described as part of that transaction, not as a promise of extra Gems or a deduction from the stated Gem amount. It is a planned purchase-and-burn mechanism, not a forecast about OMI’s price.

ECOMI contrasts the new market purchase with the previous 7% burn for OMI-to-Gem. Its September statement also describes buying USDC with fiat on StackR. Fees, regional access and payment details depend on the actual checkout; the launch announcement does not replace its transaction quote.

Our Gems purchase comparison explains website and app routes. The OMI overview covers the token and trading eligible collectibles on StackR. This transition does not make an existing Gem balance convertible back into OMI or cash.

Where does the daily MCP bonus go?

The Master Collector Program (MCP) bonus is moving to OMI Unlimited staking: up to 1,500 points daily, with the full bonus at 10 million OMI staked. Smaller qualifying stakes receive a proportional bonus. ECOMI says OMI held on StackR continues earning bonus points until October 4.

The announced launch requires real OMI on Base and a stake of at least 1 million OMI. Locks are 3, 6, 12 or 24 months. Our OMI Unlimited guide explains setup, XP and lock commitments. Holding OMI on StackR alone will not replace a stake after the transition.

OMI Unlimited Season 1 runs October 1 to December 31, 2026. XP rank and participation conditions determine seasonal collectibles and Gems. Further beta features are planned for later releases; they should not all be assumed available on day one.

The dates: September 30, October 1 and October 4

The previous OMI Leaderboard Rewards close September 30. ECOMI’s September 29 Base guide schedules staking sign-in for October 1, 2026 at 00:00 UTC. OMI-to-Gem is also scheduled to retire October 1, without a separate exact time in the launch announcement. The previous StackR holding bonus for MCP continues until October 4 during the transition.

What to do now

  • Gem purchase: account for the announced October 1 change and check whether the current StackR checkout offers OMI or USDC.
  • For leaderboard participation: note September 30, 2026 and follow official notices for the closing details.
  • MCP bonus: review the official Base and staking instructions, minimum amount and lock period if you want to use OMI Unlimited for the bonus.
  • For a future USDC purchase: distinguish the announced 1 USDC-to-1 Gem conversion and market buy-and-burn plan from the actual route available when you buy.

The transition dates are now known. The practical next step is to review the appropriate Gem purchase route or staking terms. Use the official interface and the functions it actually offers when carrying out a transaction.
