Quick overview: This guide explains all relevant fees & costs on VeVe—from brand-specific Market and royalty fees to historical payout fees and the changes in effect since November 19, 2025. Includes practical examples, a checklist, and FAQs.

Why understanding fees matters
Fees affect your net return when trading and determine how many Gems you ultimately receive. Since the Gems transition, it is also important to understand that Gems no longer function as a traditional payout route as they once did. Instead, they remain available for use within the VeVe ecosystem. Knowing this helps you plan more realistically and avoid surprises.
The main types of fees on VeVe
- Market/royalty fees (brand-specific): When buying or selling on the secondary market, licensing and Market fees generally apply. The exact amount may vary by brand, Drop, or collection; always refer to the information shown in VeVe or the official fee schedule.
- Payout fee (historical): For traditional Gem payouts, VeVe listed a 10 % fee on the gross payout amount. However, since November 19, 2025, Gems can no longer be transferred or paid out. The previous payout model is therefore mainly relevant to older explanations and historical comparisons.
Historical: Special rules through November 18, 2025 (11:59 PM PT)
Through November 18, 2025, at 11:59 PM PT, VeVe made payouts more accessible: there was no minimum amount, and payouts of ≤ 100 Gems were subject to a flat $10 fee. Above that amount, the standard 10 % payout fee applied. This transitional policy has now expired.
Since November 19, 2025: “Terms for Gems” & Market changes
According to VeVe, the following rules have applied since 12:00 AM PT on November 19, 2025:
- Gems are a licensed in-app product and can no longer be transferred or paid out.
- New terms: New Terms of Use and Terms for Gems are in effect.
- Automatic transition: Existing Gems were converted 1:1 into the new non-transferable, non-redeemable Gems.
- Secondary market flow: VeVe acts as an intermediary in secondary market transactions, while the core Market experience for collectors remains the same.

Practical examples: How fees work

Example 1: Selling on the Market
You sell a collectible for 50 Gems. Market and royalty fees apply depending on the brand or Drop. You may then have, for example, 45 Gems in your wallet. Since the transition on November 19, 2025, you can continue using those Gems within VeVe, but you can no longer cash them out to fiat through the traditional payout process.
Example 2: Historical payout comparison
Before the transition, the payout fee also applied when cashing out. During the transitional window through November 18, 2025, smaller payouts of up to 100 Gems were temporarily subject to the flat $10 fee, while the 10 % rule applied to higher amounts. Today, this is mainly relevant when interpreting older calculations or discussions.
Example 3: Using Gems since November 19
Since November 19, Gems have remained the payment currency for the Store & Market, but they can no longer be paid out or transferred. For value conversion outside the traditional Gem payout process, VeVe refers users to StackR and OMI. To learn more about this route, read our article StackR Explained: VeVe, OMI, and Secure Setup.
Checklist: How to manage fees effectively
- Check official sources: Before making larger purchases or sales, always verify the latest VeVe fees, terms, and in-app information.
- Think in net Market proceeds: The sale price is not automatically your net result. Market and royalty fees may vary by brand or Drop.
- Understand payout terminology: Older guides, Reddit posts, or videos often still refer to Gem payouts. Different conditions have applied since November 19, 2025.
- Understand the Gems rules: Gems remain relevant for purchases and sales in the VeVe Store and Market, but should no longer be treated as a balance that can be cashed out through the traditional payout process. For a straightforward overview, see our guide VeVe Terms for Gems Explained.
- Treat StackR separately: StackR/OMI is a separate route and is not the same as a direct Gem payout.
